Driscoll Won't Run For Congress
You can take Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll's name off the list of potential candidates for the congressional seat to be vacated by retiring Congressman Jim Walsh.
After considering a possible congressional bid for the past month, Mayor Driscoll announced on Friday he will not enter the race for the 25th District. The mayor says it came down to two things: his family and his party. Driscoll adds he was concerned about being away from his family, and also the potential impact a primary would have on the Democratic Party. Right now, Dan Maffei is the only announced Democratic candidate, with Randy Wolken and Peter Cappuccilli running on the Republican side. For Keith Kobland's full report, click the video link. |
