SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - The New York State Public Service Commission has scheduled public hearings on options for adding a second area code in the 315 area code in central New York. The PSC expects to run out of phone numbers in the 315 region by late 2010. The 315 area includes all or parts of 18 counties. The PSC says it is taking action now to reduce disruption and inconvenience to customers while ensuring the availability of phone numbers.
