Eastwood Walgreens breaks ground

Eastwood Walgreens breaks ground

By Keith Kobland

Mayor Matt Driscoll, the Hart Company, and many longtime Eastwood residents officially dug up the dirt to the $9-million dollar, 15,000 square foot project.
The Walgreens store will bring in 50 jobs to Eastwood, as well as clean up what were eye sores. Along with the Walgreens, the Hart Company is teaming up with Pomco to renovate much of the block on James Street between Grant Ave. and North Ave. bringing in new businesses and giving Eastwood residents a stretch of road they can be proud of.
It will take about 7 months to build the Walgreens store. As for the rest of the block, there is no word on what types of businesses we will see.
