Route 690 Traffic Delays

Lane closures along Route 690 West before the Route 81 interchange have caused headaches for drivers all day Wednesday. And, the the lane closure will be back tomorrow. The New York State Department of Transportation says motorists can expect more delays Thursday and for most of the month of May.

Beginning May 8, westbound traffic on Route 690 at the Beech Street bridge, which is west of the Teall Avenue on-ramp, will be shifted to the right lane and right shoulder and the left and center lanes will be closed around the clock for re-surfacing operations. Traffic will be maintained in the right lane and right shoulder, and the ramp from route 690 westbound to Route 81 southbound will be closed. This closure will remain in place until approximately May 29, however, the ramp from Route 690 westbound to Route 81 southbound will reopen on Friday, May 23, in time for Memorial Day weekend.
