Landscaper Killed in Machinery Accident
A Town of Onondaga man died while working on a piece of landscaping machinery.
The accident was discovered at about 7:45 Saturday morning at 3756 Amber Rd. in Onondaga. James Delaney, 35, was found in the back of a self-unloading wagon parked behind a garage at the residence. The wagon is on the back of a Mitsubishi truck and uses two large augers powered by a separate motor to unload materials like mulch. Delaney, who runs a landscaping business, was cleaning the wagon with a leaf blower when he apparently became entangled in the rear augers. The victim was discovered by a co-worker who had arrived at the house to help with a landscaping job. Delaney was pronounced dead at the scene by the County Medical Examiners Office. |
