What it's like to be poor in Syracuse

Census figures indicate that national poverty levels were steady in 2007 at 12.5 percent. But many Syracuse residents may find that number hard to swallow as they struggle to put food on the table. It's estimated that 20-30 percent of all city residents live at or below the national poverty level.
