Van Buren Tower Opposition
A proposed radiation tower in the Town of Van Buren is getting a lot of attention among neighbors. If approved the tower will be built in the middle of a residential neighborhood and homeowners are not taking the news well. A few residents wrote up a 16 page protest letter, which will be presented at tonights zoning board meeting. The proposed tower would be a 160-foot high electro-magnetic radiation tower by Verizon. Originally the tower was going to be a cell phone tower but plans were later changed to a microwave tower. The tower will help get wireless internet to the area.
Neighbors are complaining saying the tower will be an eyesore, and it will be harmful to the surrounding community. The board meeting will be held tonight at 7:30 P.M. At the Van Buren Town Hall. Standing room only is expected. |
