Business is strong in Armory Square

By Jon Dougherty

Despite the struggling economy, business is strong in Downtown Syracuse. A ceremony was held today to honor three Armory Square businesses. Joette's Accessory Boutique, Kenn Kushner's Design, and The Black Olive.
Joette's Accessory Boutique moved to the Walton Street location in January, after seeing an increase in foot traffic in her old Armory Square store.
Kenn Kushner's Designs is one of the newest Armory Square shops. Owner Kenn Kushner is no stranger to downtown. He owned a jewelry repair shop in the square for 10 years before moving to Fayetteville. Three years later, he moved back.
In the coming weeks, The Black Olive will open in Armory Square. It's a Mediterranean restaurant.
These three businesses are a sign businesses is strong in downtown.
