Beginning Thursday, May 8, westbound traffic on I-690 at the Beech Street viaduct (west of the Teall Avenue on-ramp) will be shifted to the right lane and right shoulder and the left and center lanes will be closed around the clock for resurfacing operations. Traffic will be maintained in the right lane and right shoulder, and the ramp from I-690 westbound to I-81 southbound will be closed. This closure will remain in place until approximately May 29, however, the ramp from I-690 westbound to I-81 southbound will reopen on Friday, May 23, in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Detour from I-690w to I-81s: continue on I-690w to the West Street Exit. Follow West Street south, then turn left onto Shonnard Street, which becomes Adams Street. Continue on Adams to I-81 southbound.


Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver's license.
