Booming Housing Market in Syracuse

In Syracuse, Money Magazine predicts home prices will go up almost 3 percent. Not bad when you consider those who are trying to sell their home in a place like Miami will see the value slashed by 25 percent.

You can't turn the corner in some parts of Syracuse without seeing a house for sale.

People like Rose Wilson are looking to sell their home. After two weeks on the market, she's had overwhelming interest.

The President of the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors says there's good reason for steady growth here. Property in the Syracuse market, including Onondaga, Oswego and Madison counties never got outrageously over-valued.

In the first quarter of this year Money Magazine's prediction about the Syracuse market came true. We were up 2 point 6 percent over the same time last year.
