Back on the Job
New York's Senator Hillary Clinton resumed her senate work today with a visit to Syracuse for a briefing from a number of local companies and research institutions on alternative energy projects. She was joined by Governor David Paterson and Mayor Matt Driscoll. However the presidential race was not far from anyone's mind as they gathered to listen to the former candidate for her party's nomination. Clinton still travels with heavy secret service protection seemingly beyond that provided a former first lady and she is still a possible V.P. Pick by candidate Barack Obama. Clinton recently endorsed her former rival at a rally in Unity, New Hampshire and today she urged supporters to get behind him.
"And I think that's going to happen," the Senator said. "It may take a little bit of time but every day I see evidence people are realizing that we have to have a united democratic party to win," Clinton said. Asked about any future presidential aspirations, she said she just wants to be the best senator she can be, something she frequently said in the past. |
