Opposing NYRI's Proposal

Opposing NYRI's Proposal

By WTVH News3

New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is calling on the federal government to reject the New York Regional Interconnect's request for guaranteed profits on proposed transmission line. Cuomo submitted a letter today to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission objecting to a proposal that guarantees the company will receive a 13.5% annual profit on the proposed high power line. Cuomo's says a guaranteed profit margin is bad for New York consumers and bad for the environment. NYRI'S proposed transmission line would run from Utica to Orange county, extending nearly 200 miles through 43 towns and cities in New York.
