InBev Deal Close

InBev Deal Close

By WTVH News1

After weeks of public bickering, Anheuser-Busch
is likely to accept a sweetened buyout offer from
the Belgian-based brewer InBev this weekend
The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal are both reporting today that the two sides are once again talking, and that InBev has boosted its takeover offer. Anheuser Busch has a plant in the Town of Lysander that employs some 900 people.
The deal has been widely opposed by politicians,
worried it would create a near-monopoly in the U.S. beer market.
InBev has promised to keep open all 12 of Anheuser-Busch's U.S.
breweries, and to keep the company's North American headquarters in
St. Louis.
