Crunch Take Shootout for 6th-Straight Win

By Rishi Barran

Syracuse topped division leading Toronto despite being outshot 41-20, getting 39 saves from Karl Goehring in a 3-2 win in a shootout.

David Cullen scored the winning shootout goal for the Crunch, and Goehring came up with the game-clinching save.

The Crunch has now won 6 straight and come away with points in a franchise-record 14 consecutive games.

Derick Brassard and Mark Rycroft each scored in regulation for the Crunch, while Cullen and Nate DiCasmirro netted the two goals in the shootout.

The Crunch is now in firm position to make the playoffs, and if Syracuse can stay hot, it can continue to improve its seeding.
