Chiefs Have Eight Game Winning Streak Snapped

By Rishi Barran

The Chiefs lost to Pawtucket 3-1, falling out of first place in the division and seeing their eight-game winning streak vanish.

David Purcey struck out nine in six innings, but the three runs (two earned) he gave up were too much for the Chiefs to overcome.

Eric Nielsen hit his first homer of the year for Syracuse in the loss.

The Chiefs play two more in Pawtucket before returning home to host Scranton-Wilkes Barre on Saturday.
