Chiefs Fall Further Out Of First Place

The Chiefs lost to Pawtucket 5-3 Tuesday night falling 8-and-a-half games out of first place. The PawSox rallied for two runs in the ninth inning against Mike Gosling (3-4) to reel off their second straight winsagainst the Chiefs at Alliance Bank Stadium. Jonathan Van Every looped a single to center with two outs to score the go-ahead run in the ninth. Joe Thurston was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded two batters later to score another run. The Chiefs were unable to take the lead in the eighth when Russ Adams grounded to second with two outs against Jon Switzer (4-1).
