His 25th win of the season came on October 2 against the Boston Red Sox in a one-game playoff for the American League East Division title. Guidry was awarded the American League Cy Young Award following the season.

In addition to the Cy Young Award, the southpaw was also a five-time AL Gold Glove winner (1982-’86), a four-time AL All-Star (1978, ’79, ’82, ’83), and a member of two World Series Championship teams (77, ’78).

After throwing out the game’s ceremonial first pitch, Guidry will return to the concourse to sign autographs for the general public from 7:30 pm – 8:15 pm. There will be a limit of one autographed item per person and personalization and photographs will not be permitted. The stadium gates will open at 6:00 pm.
