Marlies Blow Out Crunch In Game Three

Marlies Blow Out Crunch In Game Three

By Kevin Maher

Save the brooms for another day.

The Syracuse Crunch will not be sweeping the Toronto Marlies in the North Division Finals thanks to an 8-2 loss Tuesday at the Onondaga County War Memorial in front of 5,011 raucous fans.

Syracuse still holds a 2-1 advantage with Game Four set for tomorrow night. Crunch goalie Karl Goehring lost his magic touch, allowing four goals over the first two periods.
Head coach Ross Yates pulled Goehring in favor of Adam Munro to start the third in an effort to light a fire under his team.

That move backfired when Munro allowed two goals in the first minute of the third.
Nate DiCasmirro scored for Syracuse in the first period and Joakim Lindstrom notched a goal in the third.

A fourth goal in the third by Toronto caused the Crunch frustration level to overflow as Zenon Konopka, Tom Sestito, Dan Smith and Derek Dorsett all had battles with the Marlies that sent most of them off the ice with game misconducts.
