You may not know the face, but it's a cinch you've heard one of Art Benshadel's many voice characterizations. Working with several local audio production companies, Benshadel has impersonated some of the biggest names of the past 100 years for radio and TV commercials, and even telephone on-hold programs.

"Art has been the spice in our stew, the icing on our cake for years now," says Tom Shine, of Horizon Productions of Liverpool. "We've used his voices for our local work, as well as productions we've done for as far away as Florida and Canada."

"When we need a unique voice for one of our projects," says Scott Gardner of Agile' Marketing Services, "the first person we think of is Art. Not only does he do impersonations like [Jack] Nicholson and Arnold [Schwarzenegger], but dialects from all over the US. Sometimes this funny voice from nowhere will pop out of his mouth."

Benshadel manages to squeeze in working for the local studios along side his day job as a radon tester for Green Homes by Entherm.

"It's a talent I was given, and I feel I'm supposed to use it," explains Benshadel. "If I can make other people happy, it makes me happy."

Benshadel, a native of Camillus NY, is currently working on voicing stories for LibriVox.org and is planning a series of family-friendly audio stories.
