I have been very fortunate to have a hobby that allows me to spend every september at 11,000 ft in the Colorado high country during the most beautiful time of the year.
A few years ago I decided to record what I see and share the incredible sights and experiences with a camera, which adds a new dimension to each trip. I may take as many as 700 photos in two or three weeks. These photos will last a lifetime and remind me that life is short and theres more to life than going to work each day.
Although we have rented horses before, I prefer to backpack up to 10 miles to where you rarely see another human being and we are totally on our own. This kind of physical shape starts in April with at least three hikes a week, of two to seven miles and I've done up to 150lbs. for 12 miles at 11,000 ft without resting.
Some of my best experinces have been sneaking up on a wild mountain lion to 20 yards, the large black bear checking me out when all I was carrying was a camera and the hundreds of bull Elk in rut bugleing in the crisp mountain air. George Adams of Liverpool.
